Biography:

Hello! My name is Karlos Garza and I am currently a graduate student at the University of Texas School of Public Health in San Antonio with a major in epidemiology. I was born in Rio Grande City, Texas and have lived in San Antonio since 2012. I have one older sister who is an attorney and a mother who is the human resource director for a nursing company. Both of them live in the Rio Grande Valley along with majority of other family members. My career goal is to become a physician with a speciality in either cosmetic surgery or anesthesiology so for now I plan to apply for medical school next year in order to enter the 2018 class.

My dreams of becoming a physician have shown that I have a passion for medicine and an enthusiasm for learning. I am very friendly and approachable making it easy to meet and socialize with new people. I truly value when I meet new people since not only does it provide me with an opportunity to make new friends, but it also helps me learn from them, regardless of the topic or their age, race, socioeconomic status, etc., and build a connection where we both learn from each other. I view knowledge as a gift that can only be obtained at times by interacting with others, which is why it is always important to respect others, get to know them and always be grateful for what you have in your life.
