Ashley Vazquez is a proud South San Antonio ISD senior whose journey has been shaped by resilience, growth, and community. Through programs like JROTC and TRIO, she found mentorship, purpose, and a support system that helped her overcome personal hardships, including her father’s deportation. As a Building A Purpose scholarship recipient, she discovered her strength, learned to face challenges head-on, and grew into a determined young woman ready for her future. Her story is a powerful example of perseverance, hope, and the impact of being seen, supported, and uplifted. Ashley was chosen as Grand Marshal of Building A Purpose because her journey reflects the organization’s mission—she embraced mentorship, connected with inspiring leaders, and turned adversity into a pathway toward a promising future.
