A Year for the Books: Reflecting on 2020

As 2020 comes to a close, we can’t help but look back on the year we’ve been through together. It was a year filled with challenges that tested us in ways we never expected, but also one that revealed the resilience, creativity, and heart of our students, our community, and our organization. Through every obstacle, we saw young people adapting, families supporting one another, and mentors standing strong in their commitment to serve. In the face of uncertainty, we believed in each other and we did it!

This year is truly one for the books, not because of what we lost, but because of what we proved we could overcome. At Building A Purpose, our mission has always been to create mentorship, leadership, and opportunities for youth, while our vision remains rooted in building a community where every student can thrive with purpose. 2020 reminded us that this mission is not only possible but essential. Together, we showed that even in the hardest of times, we are stronger when we stand united, guided by purpose and fueled by hope.

As we welcome 2021, we mark this milestone with gratitude. Gratitude for the students who never stopped striving, for the families and volunteers who kept showing up, and for a community that continues to grow in strength and compassion. We are here, together, stepping into a new year filled with possibility and that is something worth celebrating.

✨ From all of us at Building A Purpose, Happy New Year! ✨
